Dr. Barbara Ann Greim was honored at a surprise retirement party on Friday, April 28, 2000.

Dr. Greim came to UNCW in 1969 and has spent the last 31 years teaching and mentoring students. She was instrumental in establishing the CSC program (in 1977) as part of the Mathematical Sciences Department. In 1998, Computer Science become a separate department and Dr. Greim served as Interim Chair of the department since that time. The department has grown from 8 full-time faculty in 1998 to 12 full-time faculy in 2000.
