UNCW Fulbright Applicants

Four UNCW students have applied to be part of the prestigious 2013-2014
Fulbright U.S. Student Program which provides grants for individually designed
study/research projects or English Teaching Assistantships. Candidates submit a
Statement of Grant Purpose defining activities to take place during one academic
year in a country outside the U.S. The students applying this year are Austin
Cloyed (Brazil), Julia Daugherty (Spain), Lydia Shippen (Jordan), and Keenan
Withers (Mauritius). Fulbrighters meet, work, live with and learn from the
people of the host country, sharing daily experiences. The program is open to
graduating seniors and recent Bachelor’s degree recipients. UNCW is home to a
large number of past Fulbrighters who are now on the faculty and staff. A list
of these individuals and more information on the program can be found at http://uncw.edu/csurf/fulbrightpage.html. The official
Fulbright website can be found at http://us.fulbrightonline.org/fulbright-us-student-program.
