DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION SPECIALIST
Ms. McLaughlin-Smith facilitates workshops, trainings, information, and presentations on the topic of diversity and inclusion as it relates to our campus community. Diversity education and trainings are tailored to the needs of faculty, staff, and students. In her role as Diversity and Inclusion Specialist, McLaughlin-Smith, provides communication strategies, engages audiences in discussions on the subject of diversity, and provides resources on a variety of cultural competencies. She is responsible for providing diversity training through new employee orientation, residential advisors training, and other venues, including UNI classes and various departmental requests to address diversity curriculum. McLaughlin-Smith also serves as coordinator of the annual UNCW Diversity Conference, and as hosts of Culturally Speaking, a television talk show focused on various cultural experiences, and produced by UNCW Media Production.
