What is the OLLI at UNCW?
UNCW is one of 119 prestigious universities and colleges in the United States designated as an Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. Founded by Bernard Osher in 1997, the Bernard Osher Foundation supports a wide range of educational and cultural initiatives. In 2005, UNCW received $100,000 of funding from the foundation to expand continuing education and lifelong learning programs open to all, but focused on 50+. UNCW received another $100,000 in 2006. In June 2007, the foundation generously endowed the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UNCW with $1 million to continue expanding educational courses and diversity programming!
