Think you want to be a marine biologist? How about an oceanographer? Maybe you prefer marine technology specialist? You can check out your career options at our camp designed to let you step into the swim fins of different types of marine scientists and gain some first-hand experience using the kinds of instruments and ROV technology their research requires.
Activities include:

Half-day research cruises on ocean and river; field trips to the beach, marsh, fouling station, Marine Technology program, aquaculture lab, fossil quarry, UNCW Center for Marine Science and other marine facilities.
Highlights include:
- Build ROVs; interact with UNCW research scientists; participate in boogie board oceanography; explore marine habitats by kayak and on foot; do transect analysis while snorkeling, and more....
Camp O.C.E.A.N.S is a two-week, residential only camp.
New! This year we are offering a new Camp O.C.E.A.N.S. session, called Camp O.C.E.A.N.S. Gulf Stream, which is one-week long for commuters only.
