MarineQuest, ages 5 - 17, offers fun-filled, week-long camps exploring the marine habitats of coastal North Carolina. Younger campers safely explore with nets, buckets, magnifying glasses and more. Older campers explore by foot, boogie board, kayak and more.

Young Entrepreneurial Program, ages 12 - 16
Students meet with professionals to learn how to start and manage a business in a fun environment. The five-day camp consists of introductory entrepreneurial training based on a progressive business curriculum.
Girls in Charge Chemistry Camp, ages 7 - 8
Hey girls, get charged up about chemistry! Come and explore the fascinating, magical world of chemistry during a week of pure science fun! Are you curious about how make-up, perfume, shampoo, lotions and paints are made? Ever wonder how medicines are made? In a safe university laboratory, this camp explores a wide range of chemistry concepts in a girls only setting! Women mentors and instructors challenge girls and show them how they can make a difference in the scientific world.

Port City CSI: Forensics, ages 9 - 11
A crime has been committed! Call Port City CSI! But…what does a crime scene investigator really do? This camp provides you with a week-long investigation into this exciting career! Through hands-on forensic science exploration, you’ll learn how to document a crime scene, analyze evidence (DNA), and determine “who dunnit!” You will present your case and findings on the final day of camp!

Smashing Atoms Chemistry Camp, ages 7 - 8
Learn what a “Mad Scientist” really does! Come and explore the fascinating, magical world of chemistry during a week of pure science fun! You will be involved with safe, hands-on experiments dealing with the chemistry of light, fireworks, rockets, spontaneous reactions, chemistry of the ocean water, with so much more! You will learn how to make predictions, design experiments, collect data and draw conclusions by performing experiments in a real university laboratory using university equipment. This camp will provide you with essential fundamentals to be successful in the Science Olympiad!

Are you a fan of Animal Planet and the Discovery Channel? If so, our newest camp for aspiring videographers might appeal to you. Document environmental topics related to our marine habitats using hand lenses, viewers, binoculars, telescopes, cameras and digital camcorders to create your own public service announcement.
Squeaky Etoys Camp, ages 11 - 14
Learn how to make and animate storybooks using the computer! Create your own characters, creatures, and players and empower them to move and identify the location of other characters, sense contact and interact. Use digital images and sound recordings to personalize your story. Also use sensors to create storybooks that respond to their environments. Work with Computer Science faculty, graduate and undergraduate students to learn how to design and build interactive games within your storybook.
Mind for Design: Designer Greens , ages 10 – 14
Are you a fashionista who can’t afford new clothes? Then “go green” with our newest design camp and learn how to creatively recycle your old clothes and accessories into new fashions. Your creations will be good for the planet and your wallet! No previous sewing or knitting skills are required, but they will help.
Mind for Design: Costume Design Challenge, ages 10 – 14
Have you ever wanted to dress up as a character from your favorite book, movie or TV show? Sign up for our design camp and learn how to fashion these looks yourself! Imaginations are mandatory; previous sewing and crafting experience helpful.

Sea Squirts, ages 5 - 6
Your little squirts will enjoy our fun-filled camp for budding scientists interested in the field of “ickyology”. They’ll explore different marine habitats and meet some of the shelly, fishy, crusty and squishy critters that live there.
Sea Safari, ages 6 - 7
Send your young adventurer on an exciting Sea Safari through the four habitats of a barrier island. They’ll hunt for the wild animals and plants that survive in each habitat and discover the 'big game" of our marine environment.
Sea Camp, ages 7 - 8
Send your young explorer on a true treasure hunt to discover the riches of our local barrier islands. Follow a secret map through the beach, dunes, maritime forest and marsh to find the true plant and animal treasures that inhabit our marine environment.
Sea S.I., ages 9 - 10
Your young detectives will be hot on the trail of a master environmental criminal tracking him through our local habitats. Sea sleuths will spend the week using their CSI forensic skills to decipher clues and collect evidence to solve crimes against the environment in this ecological mystery!
Coast Trek, ages 11 - 12
Send your pre-teen explorers back in time to the age of the giant prehistoric shark Carcharodon megalodon to discover how the North Carolina coast has changed over the years. While time-traveling through our coastal habitats back to the future, Trekkies will experience first-hand how the forces of nature have created the coastline that we see today.
Shore Shots, ages 12 - 16
Are you a fan of Animal Planet and the Discovery Channel? If so, our camp for aspiring videographers might appeal to you. Document environmental topics related to our marine habitats using digital SLR cameras, binoculars, professional digital video cameras and digital camcorders to create your own public service announcement.
ArtSea, ages 12 - 16
Campers will focus on different artistic interpretations of marine plants, animals and habitats. Each day campers will explore local habitats to garner inspiration and then spend time in the art studio creating their own masterpieces. Guest artists will instruct students in different mediums and share how their own work inspires others to appreciate and protect the marine environment. Students will display their work on the final day in our ArtSea Gallery show.
Ocean Lab, ages 13 - 14
If your teen is tired of reading, writing, and arithmetic they just might want to try their hand at one of the four fields of marine science: biology, chemistry, geology, and physics. Each day of this exciting camp your junior scientists will explore a different field using that great big outdoor lab we call an ocean.
Camp O.C.E.A.N.S., ages 15 - 16 (residential)
Think you want to be a marine biologist? How about an oceanographer? Maybe you prefer marine technology specialist? You can check out your career options at our camp designed to let you step into the swim fins of different types of marine scientists and gain some first-hand experience using the kinds of instruments and ROV technology their research requires.
Camp O.C.E.A.N.S. Gulf Stream, ages 15 - 16 (commuter)
Our popular camp O.C.E.A.N.S. now condensed to a one-week camp designed for commuter campers. Come check out your career options as a marine biologist, an oceanographer or a marine technology specialist. Our camp is designed to let you step into the swim fins of different types of marine scientists and gain some first-hand experience using the kinds of instruments and ROV technology their research requires.
Oceans 17, ages 16 - 17
Oceans 17 provides serious marine science enthusiasts with the chance to conduct experimental research and participate in community service that benefits our marine environment. Campers will spend three weeks collecting and interpreting data that supports current research being conducted by scientists at UNCW. In between their research, kayaking, surfing, boogie boarding and other fun stuff, campers will complete a community service project that improves the quality of our local marine habitats.
Jr. Seahawk Academy, ages 11 - 15
A week-long day program designed specifically for middle grade students who are interested in participating in a unique and creative look at mathematics, science and technology. The aim of the academy is as follows:
- Foster positive attitudes towards Reading, Science, Mathematics, and Technology
- Raise awareness of career and post-secondary opportunities in these areas
- Develop literacy and technology skills as well as patterns of reasoning and problem solving
Activities this summer will include exciting reading, math, and science exploration, seminars and creative projects to be designed and presented by the students. This program is sponsored by the Watson School of Education.
Band, Orchestra, Chorus/Voice, and Piano Summer Workshops, grades 9 - 12
Enjoy five days of study and one-on-one interaction with music faculty and guest artists at the University of North Carolina Wilmington Summer Music Camp. The camp is designed to meet the needs of students of varying abilities and experience levels, in the areas of band, orchestra, chorus/voice, and piano, while covering a comprehensive course of instruction in performance, music theory, ensemble performance, and more. Daily schedules include: music theory classes, master classes, individual lessons, small and large ensembles, faculty and student performances, and a final student concert at end of week.
Jazz Summer Workshop, grades 9 - 12
In its 12th year, the UNCW Summer Jazz Workshop has established itself as the premiere summer workshop for jazz study in North Carolina for high school student musicians. The workshop covers virtually every aspect of jazz study and provides ample opportunities to work one-on-one with jazz faculty and guest artists.
Camp BONES Academy, grades 8 - 9An exciting introduction to the world of nursing and other health careers, Camp BONES (Brigade of Nurse Exploring Seahawks) is a two-week residential program offering nurse shadowing, hands-on clinical skills training, CPR and First Aid training, scientific experiments, team -building exercises, leadership skills development, health career exploration and college preparation activities.

Baseball, ages 6 - 15
Lil League Camp: Instructs youth on the fundamentals of baseball with a focus on all aspects of the game.
All Skills Camp: Informs this age group about different aspects of the game and allows them to play the game with the attitude of being together as a team before self.
Select I & II Camp: Gives each participant the opportunity to be involved in a highly intense and competitive atmosphere being treated as a college player.
Basketball (Boy's), ages 7 - 18
The Benny Moss Boy's Basketball camp teaches the fundamentals of the game, refines skills and has fun while working hard to become a better basketball player.

Basketball (Girl's)
The Ann Hancock Elite camp is geared to the highly skilled, serious-minded, very intense high school player entering grades 9 - 12. It provides personalized instruction by the UNC Wilmington Women's Basketball staff.
Basketball (Girl's Team)
Have fun while learning the fundamentals of basketball. Players are grouped according to their age and ability and taught on an individual team basis.
Soccer (Boy's), ages 5 - 18
Day and Residential Camps are offered for the aspiring young soccer player to test their skills and develop new ones. With dedicated, experienced coaches and small camper to staff ratio, your son is guaranteed the attention needed to improve his game. Our camps are designed to improve each player’s technique and understanding of the game, with curriculum tapered to each ability level and age group.
Soccer (Girl's), ages 5 - 18
Lil Hawks Camp: Focuses on the beginning soccer player. Half day camp only. Campers will be exposed to the many technical aspects needed for the younger, beginning soccer player. An emphasis on fun for the week!
Junior Camp: Excellent camp for younger players who play on a team. Focus on developing skills needed to become better soccer players.
Senior Camp: Best Soccer camp in the southeast for the serious soccer player. Excellent facilities for teams that want to train/play together. Very competitive and focuses on the tactical, technical, physical and psychological facets of the game.
Camp provides instruction in all facets of the game for both the advanced and beginner players. There will be sessions in hitting, bunting, base running, pitching, catching, infield and outfield play, as well as game competition. Throughout the week a special emphasis will be placed on learning the game in a fun and competitive environment.
Swimming, ages 3 - 12
The Seahawk Swim School is the number one swim lesson program in the Cape Fear area. Children from age 3 may participate in four two-week sessions.
Tennis, ages 6 - 18
Tennis camp for boys and girls at all levels. Day camp features tennis fundamentals and instruction.
Young Writers' Workshop, grades 9 - 12
Young Writers Workshop attendees participate in daily creative writing exercises, craft lectures, writing workshops, and readings. Because the workshop is held on the UNCW campus, students stay in the residence halls and take their meals in the dining facility. The workshop is directed and run by UNCW Department of Creative Writing MFA students and faculty, giving the attendees a chance to study their craft with published, working writers.
The workshop is a valuable and exciting experience for young writers interested in learning more about their craft. Although students are asked to submit a work of creative writing in one genre (poetry, fiction, or creative nonfiction), attendees will receive instruction in all genres.
