Training the Trainer
Continuing Studies in the Department for Public Service and Continuing Studies provides several non-credit "Training the Trainer" courses for the Marine Corps Combat Service Support School (MCSSS) at Camp Johnson, Jacksonville, North Carolina.
The program, which began in December 1999 with one course, "Foundations of Instruction Design," has expanded to five courses in the past eight years.
UNCW faculty members from the Department of Communication Studies and the Watson School of Education in cooperation with Continuing Studies deliver the following: "Design and Delivery of Instructor-Led Training," "The Case Study Method," "Instructional Evaluation and Test Development," "Mentoring and Monitoring Instructors," and "Effective Teaching Seminar" this next year.
