Quality Enhancement for Nonprofit Organizations (QENO)

 

 

Quality Enhancement for Nonprofits (QENO) is an initiative of the University of North Carolina Wilmington, the Cape Fear Area United Way, the Community Foundation of Southeastern NC, Southeastern Alliance for Community Change, the Landfall Foundation, the City of Wilmington, New Hanover County and Cape Fear Memorial Foundation.

Celebration for DREAMS of Wilmington

QENO in cooperation with The United Way of the Cape Fear Area and GWACA hosted a reception on March 1st to honor DREAMS of Wilmington and celebrate the organization for receiving the White House's "Coming Up Taller" award which is presented annually to the nations top youth serving arts and humanities programs. Over 150 people including Representative Mike Mcintyre and Wilmington Mayor Bill Saffo attended the event which featured performances by young artists and performers from DREAMS.

 

WASHINGTON D.C.
"The DREAMS Center, which offers free arts education to under served students in Wilmington, North Carolina,has been nationally recognized as one of 18 arts and humanities programs to receive the prestigious 2007 Coming Up Taller Award. Youth and adult representatives of the initiatives traveled to Washington, D.C. for a Monday, January 28 ceremony in the East Room of the White House. Once there Tracy Wilkes was presented the award by First Lady Laura Bush "
