The REU site participants will also visit the Paleoclimatology & Paleoecology Laboratory at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and The Phelps Archaeology Lab at East Carolina University during the course of the project.

The REU will make use of the Paleontological Research Institution’s (Ithaca, NY) vast collection, which includes more than two and a half million specimens of fossil and modern molluscs and is among the ten largest and most scientifically important fossil collections in the U.S.

Residential Accomodations

On campus apartment suite housing with cooking facilities and access to campus dining facilities will be provided for the duration of the project for all student participants.
