1. How do I get my concentration in International Studies as an education major?
A minimum of 19 hours is required in the Academic Concentration. Click here to review the concentration sheet (for Elementary Education majors only).

2.How do I know what country has been selected for my time as a student intern?
Look at the selected countries on the International Programs website and the future semester date will be in the introduction and on each of the country web pages.

3. I have never been outside the United States before. What do I do and how do I do it?
The first thing is not to panic and then go to the Office of International Programs website and go to one of their information sessions. http://uncw.edu/international/abroad/steps.html

4. How do I get my passport?
Go to the International programs link or stop by the Auxiliary office on campus. http://uncw.edu/international/abroad/steps.html

5. Who is responsible for the paperwork to go overseas and how do I know what is needed?
Check with the coordinator for the country you are going to and then check with International programs. If you are doing internships or working in the country of your choice then you are required to do paperwork for International programs. http://uncw.edu/international/abroad/steps.html

6. Do I need to get added immunizations for any of these countries?

7. How much will it cost?
Check with the coordinator for the country you are interested in but approximately $2-3,000 for semester. Check with Anika Wooton at International programs about financial aid issues or go to the Office of International Programs website.

8.Where will I stay when I am there?
Check with your coordinator for the country you are interested in. Some programs have students housed with local families and some have university settings.

9.What is the difference between an exchange program and a study abroad program?
