Study abroad in Japan
EDN: Comparative Education: US and Japan (3 Credits)
EDN: Culture and Education: Japan (3 Credits)
This course allows students to reflect about teaching and learning as they look at education through the eyes of Japanese educators. Students will become familiar with cultural aspects of Japan that impact education, will spend one week in Japanese schools observing and working with Japanese teachers and students, and will participate in collaborative reflection groups sharing observations and exploring connections.
Students will receive six semester hours of credit. This credit may be used to meet specific requirements in a graduate program or academic concentration or elective requirements in an undergraduate program.
