The 2008 NC Teach program at UNCW is designed to prepare alternative licensure teachers for the following 3 areas only:

SCIENCE
Middle Grades (6-9)
Secondary (9-12)

MATHEMATICS
Middle Grades (6-9)
Secondary (9-12)

SPECIAL EDUCATION
General Curriculum Track
Adapted Curriculum Track

*Due to recent changes in North Carolina Department of Public Instruction’s licensure requirements, applicants must have a degree in a related area to be eligible for lateral entry licensure and thus, for employment. UNCW’s NC TEACH program will only consider applicants with the following bachelor’s / master’s degrees deemed relevant by the state:

*Accounting (Middle School only)

Note: Accounting degrees are not acceptable for secondary (high school) mathematics but may be for middle grades math if candidate has at least 15 hours of mathematics courses
