Site Coordinator Roles and Responsibilities

This Partnership Teacher is chosen to coordinate PDS activities in a Partnership School. The Site Coordinator. . .

  • Participates with Watson School of Education faculty in planning professional development activities and addresses other issues related to the philosophy, goals and objectives of the Professional Development System;

  • Coordinates activities at the Partnership School related to placement of Teacher Interns and acts as liaison between the Partnership Teachers, Teacher Interns, the PDS Site Coordinator Liaison and University Supervisors;

  • Completes and returns forms and applications to UNCW in a timely manner; disseminates and collects information pertinent to Partnership Teachers as necessary;

  • Plans, structures and leads site seminars between and among Teacher Interns, Partnership Teachers, University Supervisors and others involved in the Partnership School efforts;

  • Serves as an intellectual resource to interns, colleagues and university faculty;

  • Participates in PDS training sessions and conferences;

  • May serve as professor of record (part-time faculty appointment) in certain cases.

  • Meeting the qualifications of a Partnership Teacher

  • Holding a Master’s degree in an appropriate educational area, if possible

  • Holding successful teaching and leadership roles in schools
