System Superintendent Roles and Responsibilities

The PDS system superintendent serves as the liaison between the public school system and the Watson School of Education's university-school partnership. This person represents the focus and direction of the system's board of education in educational venues involving the WSE PDS.  While serving in this important decision-making role, the superintendent has the following responsibilities:

  • Negotiates and signs the system's formal contractual agreement with the WSE PDS every three years
  • Represents the system's focus and direction in PDS-related work within the system
  • Selects the schools that will participate as PDS School Sites
  • Assigns the role of PDS System Key Contact and works closely with that person to ensure smooth and accurate communication between the system and the PDS partnership.
