The Partnership Teacher serves as mentor, coach and professional resource

- Serves as the public school cooperating teacher, being responsible
for the completion of state and university forms impacting graduation
and certification;
- Serves as mentor and coach for interns, using the learning-centered
supervision (coaching) model, and serves as an intellectual resource
for other partners;
- Participates in efforts to make relevant reforms in school practices,
structures and cultures;
- Analyzes practices and the consequences of such practices to
improve instruction, utilizing inquiry wherever applicable;
- Participates in site seminars between and among teacher interns,
partnership teachers, university supervisors, and others involved in
the partnership school efforts;
- Serves as an intellectual and professional resource for interns,
other partnership teachers and university supervisors;
- Participates in all PDS professional development activities associated
with the role (i.e., models learning-centered supervision, the application
of technology in the classroom, INTASC Standards, etc.);
- Has at least three years of experience as a successful teacher;
- Participates in PDS Orientation Training, on-going professional
development conferences and extended PDS trainings.
