Deadline for applications is May 8th, 2013
Students interested in the STAR grant and who meet the minimum requirements are encouraged to submit an application .
The STAR (Scholarship Team in Action to Recruit) Scholarship Program provides monies to support mathematics and science majors and career changers who are seeking teacher certification and agree to teach in high need schools and districts in North Carolina.
The program gives up to $10,000 for prospective teachers during the completion of their last year(s) of coursework and there are few limitations regarding how the these funds may be spent. This NSF supported program began in September 2009 and is funded for five years.
