An emergency on campus may require a building evacuation. Examples of such emergencies include gas leaks and building fires. If a building evaucation is required, follow these steps:
- When instructed, either by fire alarm or other alert notification method, calmly evacuate the building.
- Retreat to a safe place outside of the building. When possible, pre-determine a place where you and your co-workers/classmates will meet.
- Remain in this location until everyone is accounted for.
- Do not re-enter the building until emergency personnel determine it is safe.

Building Fire Drills
By order of the fire marshall, fire drills of all campus buildings must be conducted twice a year. You will be notified in advance of these fire drills and they will be performed with the least disruption to your work day as possible. During a fire drill, you must evacuate the building as if a fire were actually occurring.
