UNCW Honors College will host professor, writer, and keynote speaker, Daniel Simons, Ph.D. on Feb. 18 to discuss his book, The Invisible Gorilla: What We See and What We Miss. The event will begin at 7 p.m. in the Burney Center Ballroom and is to be followed by a Q&A and book signing.
The Invisible Gorilla, co-authored by Christopher Chabris, is a New York Times Bestseller and explores how humans are deceived by their own mind. Throughout the book’s six chapters, the authors discuss how often people experience gaps in their cognitive abilities, and their inability to recognize them.
Simons is currently a professor in the University of Illinois Department of Psychology.
This presentation is free and open to the public. No tickets are required.
