Military Spouse Career Advancement Account (MyCAA)
MyCAA provides up to $6,000 of financial assistance for eligible spouses of active duty and activated Guard and Reserve service members. Eligible spouses receive financial assistance to help pay for licenses, certifications and education in high growth, high demand portable career fields. Portable careers are likely to provide job opportunities in locations where military service members may be stationed, these career fields include, but are not limited to, business/management, education, financial services, health services, homeland security and information technology. Dedicated to changing women’s lives, the Royal Neighbors Foundation supports female veterans through its Heroes at Home Scholarship Program. Click here for more information and here for an application. (Deadline is June 1, 2009)
New River SNCO Wives' Club Dependant Scholarships
The New River SNCO Wives' Club is a private organization providing scholarships to High School Seniors and Military Dependants at MCAS New River. The intent of these scholarships is to support local military families in the pursuit of furthering their educational goals. New River Officers' Spouses' Club Inc. Scholarships
The New River Officers’ Spouses’ Club, Inc. (OSC) is a private organization providing scholarships benefiting military families at MCAS New River. Ralph Brauer Student Special Activities Fellowship – The Brauer Fellowship is established to assist degree-seeking students currently enrolled in graduate programs at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, and is intended to support extraordinary projects and activities generally not funded through other means at the university (i.e., the graduate school, GSA, individual departments, research grants, etc.). Fellowships of up to one-thousand dollars can be awarded contingent on available funding. Click here for more info
North Carolina Children of War Veterans

Scholarship Opportunity forMilitary Veterans – The Fund for Veterans’ Education will provide up to $3,500 during the 2008-09 academic year to help meet the financial need of veterans from all branches of the US Armed Forces who served in Afghanistan or Iraq since September 11, 2001. http://www.veteransfund.org/
