The Extension Office is not accepting any VA work-study applications or Federal Work-Study applications at this time. Any updates will be posted on this website.
Federal Work-Study Students:
- To qualify you must have been awarded Federal Work-Study as part of your Fall 2009/Spring 2010 Financial Aid package.
- Visit the Federal Work-Study website to review employment descriptions
Common Federal Work-Study Questions:
1. I was not awarded work-study and want it. What do I do?
Contact the Financial Aid & Veteran Services Office to see if you are eligible. You may be placed on a waiting list, and if funds become available students are awarded from the list.
2. I was awarded FWS, but it has recently been cancelled. Why?
- A student must accept the award within 21 days or it may be cancelled.
- If a student does not find a job within the first two weeks of classes, FWS may be cancelled.
- In some cases if the student receives additional aid from grants or scholarships, federal regulations require that FWS be reduced or cancelled. Budgets for students receiving federal financial aid may not exceed the cost of attendance.
3. Why can’t I access the web page to look for jobs?
- If you were just awarded FWS and recently accepted the award, the database may not have been updated. It is usually updated on Thursday of each week.
- Follow the password instructions carefully. This is not your SeaNet password. You must build it following the instructions provided on the page.
VA Work-Study Students:
- To be eligible for employment you must be AT LEAST a three-quarter time student and currently using your VA benefits to pay for school.
