CCCC/UNCW Extension Policy
The UNCW Onslow Extension Program follows the Inclement Weather Policy for Coastal Carolina Community College. Should it become necessary to close/delay Coastal Carolina Community College because of inclement weather (storms, ice, snow, etc.), local radio and television stations will be notified. This means if CCCC cancels classes so will the UNCW Onslow Extension Program, classes aboard Camp Lejeune included. UNCW Main Campus/UNCW Extension Policy
The UNCW Onslow Extension Program also adheres to the Inclement Weather Policy for the main campus. Many of our instructors live in Wilmington and therefore they could be affected by weather we may not be experiencing in Onslow County. This means if all classes are cancelled/delayed at the main campus in Wilmington, all UNCW Onslow Extension classes (including base) are cancelled/delayed as well, even if Coastal Carolina Community College holds classes. Camp Lejeune/UNCW Extension Policy
The UNCW Onslow Extension campus located aboard MCB Camp Lejeune at the John A. Lejeune Base Education Center has yet another Inclement Weather Policy to follow. In the unlikely occurrence the main campus in Wilmington and CCCC are holding classes but the base has been closed to all non-essential personnel, we will not be allowed in the building and therefore all UNCW classes held on base will be cancelled until the base is open again. This is the only time we would hold UNCW classes on CCCC but cancel classes on base. Please call the base Emergency Hotline at (910) 451-1717 for announcements.
*Remember * The UNCW Onslow Extension Program must follow the policies of the UNCW main campus in Wilmington AND Coastal Carolina Community College when it comes to Inclement Weather; this does not include holiday/break closings.
As always please use your best judgment, if you are traveling from an area that has been hit more severely than your classroom location, just stay home.
