The Handbook's appearance
The Handbook is designed to work with recent versions (6.0 or higher) of Explorer. Several features of the Handbook will not work with older browsers. For example, links in the green menu column to the left should change to yellow when you pass the mouse arrow over them. To see what version you are using, click on your browser's "Help" tab near the top of the screen and then click on the "About ..." option. If you wish to upgrade, you can then click on one of the links in this paragraph to download the most recent version.
Your computer settings
If you click on the "Back to menu" link below, the page should appear on your screen as a rectangle divided into three columns of equal height. If the three columns are of unequal height, you likely have your computer's display set to "large" (120 dpi) rather than "normal" (96 dpi). The large setting is sometimes used to make text readable when the display is set to a very high resolution (often on laptops), but it will distort the appearance of many websites including this one. Both the resolution and DPI setting of your computer are adjustable.
