Told in a series of short vignettes, 17 Times Cecile Cassard is the compelling portrait of a young mother, Cécile (Béatrice Dalle, the notorious star of Betty Blue) whose life is shattered without warning by the death of her husband. The film follows her journey to put her life back together, and the difficult decisions she is forced to make in order to find peace. Featuring a great supporting performance by Jeanne Balibar, one of France's leading young actresses.

"The first film by the novelist Christophe Honoré offers a powerful atmosphere, superb photography, a dynamic soundtrack. Above all he gives the leading role to the troubling Béatrice Dalle [whose acting is] luminous and decidedly inspired." -- Alexis Campion, Le Journal de Dimanche
