A world-renowned documentary filmmaker who has made 33 films, averaging nearly 1 per year, since the 1960’s. Wiseman’s films offer an unblinking look at American institutions and other aspects of contemporary life; notable works include: Titicut Follies (1967), High School (1968), and Domestic Violence (2001). Many of Wiseman’s films have been broadcast nationally on PBS. Mr. Wiseman is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including three Emmy Awards, a MacArthur Prize Fellowship, a Guggenheim Award, The Irene Diamond Award for Lifetime Achievement, and an Honorary Membership to the American Academy of Arts & Letters.
