John Stevens's areas of specialization are Hispanic linguistics (sociolinguistics and phonology) and second language acquisition. He teaches courses in Spanish language, Hispanic linguistics, and Spanish civilization, and currently serves as the Coordinator of the Spanish Section. His research interests include Spanish dialectal variation and the acquisition of L2 Spanish phonology.
