Dr. Mary Watts teaches courses in Spanish language and linguistics and foreign language teacher education. She serves as a liaison between the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures and the Watson School of Education at UNCW and is a university supervisor for student interns working toward their North Carolina K-12 teaching licensure in Spanish and/or French. As a university supervisor, she also works with area K-12 public school teachers of Spanish and French. Dr. Watts conducts research in the field of second language acquisition, focusing on issues related to second language vocabulary acquisition, lexical processing, and reading.
