JPN 101 - Introductory Japanese I
Credits: 3Emphasis on achievement of an active command of the language. Aural-oral practice; intensive study of the basic pattern of spoken Japanese; reading, writing, and basic conversation. For students with one unit or less of high school Japanese.
JPN 102 - Introductory Japanese II
Credits: 3Emphasis on achievement of an active command of the language. Aural-oral practice; intensive study of the basic pattern of spoken Japanese; reading, writing, and basic conversation. Only for students who have successfully completed JPN 101 or the equivalent.
JPN 201 - Intermediate Japanese I
Credits: 3Prerequisite: JPN 102 or equivalent. A review of the structure of the language. Application in composition, conversation, and readings.
JPN 202 - Intermediate Japanese II
Credits: 3The second course in a two-course sequence. Please see JPN 201 for description.
JPN 211 - Perspectives on Contemporary Japanese Culture
Credits: 3Introduction to the study of Japanese society, culture, and human relationships through a variety of written and visual media. May be repeated under a different subtitle. Reading and class discussion are conducted in English. May not be taken for foreign language credit.
