Spoken by over 240 million people, Portuguese is the seventh most widely spoken language in the world after Mandarin, English, Spanish, Hindi, Russian, and Arabic.

One third of South Americans and 1/5 Americans speak Portuguese.  Half of all U.S. businesses in Latin America are located in Brazil.

Brazil is the 5th largest country in the world, the 7th economy of the world and contains the world’s most important biological diversity.

Portuguese opens the doors to four strategic spots in Africa

– the continent of the future; the new frontier for humanitarian and constructive work.

One of the BRIC emerging countries (Brazil, India, Russia, and China),

Brazil’s GDP rose 7.5% in 2010, achieving best result in 25 years.

“With the financial storms lashing Europe and the United States,” and with “compensation rivaling that on Wall Street, bankers, hedge fund managers, oil executives, lawyers and engineers have moved” to Brazil recently (8/2011 NYT).

In the last 10 years Brazil transformed its economy from an inflationary hopeless case into one of Washington’s top creditors.

A gold rush mind-set regarding Brazil resulted in foreign work permits surging 144% in the past five years. Americans are the leading educated professionals interested.
