Dr. Scatton-Tessier is the new director of the Women’s Studies & Resource Center. She has been teaching courses in French language, culture and cinema at UNCW since 2003. Her articles on contemporary French women writers and French Cinema and Media Studies have appeared in Film International, French Review, Studies in French Cinema, Studies in Twentieth and Twenty-first Century Literature, Women in French Studies and France at the Flicks. Most recently, her chapter in Portraits de jeunes filles: l'adolescence féminine dans les littératures et les cinémas français et francophones was published by L’Harmattan, Aug. 2009. Dr. Scatton-Tessier’s most current research centers on the cinema and visual projects of French directors Marc Caro and Jean-Pierre Jeunet.
