Spanish Conversation Center
The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures invites you to visit our Spanish Conversation Center to practice your spoken Spanish. The Spanish Conversation Center is staffed by graduate students in the Master of Arts in Spanish Program. The Center is free and open to everyone, including community members. You do not have to be enrolled in a Spanish course at UNCW to take advantage of this opportunity.
The Spanish Conversation Center is located in 124 Leutze Hall. During the summer, the sessions run for 30 minutes and are not organized by student level. The first five students to arrive are the five admitted to that session.
During Summer 2013, we will be piloting online conversation sessions, in addition to offering face-to-face sessions. We ask that you register in advance for each online session you wish to attend and that you make sure your microphone and webcam are working before the session starts. If you register but do not attend two sessions, you will be blocked from participating in online sessions for the remainder of the summer.
You will sign in and sign out electronically. You can do so by swiping your UNCW ID card or typing in either your UNCW username or ID number. Guests sign in electronically using their email address.

¡Saludos! Me llamo Erika Hollingsworth y soy de Texas de origen pero soy de Carolina del norte también porque hace doce años que he vivido aquí. Estudié español y ciencia de ejercicio aquí en la Universidad de Carolina del norte en Wilmington. Por dos años académicos después de graduación he vivido en España (Bilbao y Granada) enseñando inglés dónde tuve la oportunidad de mejorar el idioma, aprender la cultura y conocer buena gente. ¡Hola a todos! Me llamo David Mesa y soy de Córdoba (España). Estudié Traducción e Interpretación de inglés en la Universidad de Granada. Además he estado trabajando con alumnos como profesor de ESL. Mis principales aficiones son practicar deporte, viajar y los idiomas, así que estoy disponible para ayudarles con mucho gusto a practicar el español y con todas las dudas que tengan. |

¡Hola a todos! Me llamo Kirby White. Me encuentro en mi segunda carrera estudiantil aquí en la UNCW, donde sigo un programa de maestría de artes en español, con ganas de enseñar o en una secundaria o en una universidad. ¡Ya tengo una maestría en música desde hace 20 años! Trabajé como electricista por unos ocho años con muchos compañeros latinoamericanos, con quienes hablaba cada día de trabajo para poder aprender español por mi propia cuenta. Ya que sé que conversar es la manera más eficaz de aprender una nueva lengua, ¡con gusto espero reunirme con ustedes para poder mejorar nuestra habilidad de hablar español! |
