Join the Hamlin Garland Society

The Hamlin Garland Society is organized to disseminate information about the life and works of American author Hamlin Garland and to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas about his work.  Although the majority of its members are professors and scholars, the Society welcomes non-academic members as well.

Membership is therefore open to anyone interested in Garland's life and work who seeks to learn more about this author and to share the results of one's own enquiry with others.   Members are eligible to present papers at Society meetings and to take part in Society-sponsored activities.

The Society meets formally once each year at the American Literature Association conference.  During the rest of the year, however, the Society seeks to exchange scholarship and ideas through this web space.  At the present time, there are no dues; one becomes a member by filling out the online application.
