Commentary
Susan Hance has a passion for language, both oral and written and as a speech-language pathologist, studies both effective and ineffective methods of communication. For over twenty years, Susan has studied creative writing and the literature that inspires her. Born in the Appalachian mountains of Kentucky, she found kindred spirits in Appalachian literature and has studied at the Appalachian Writers Conference. She has an interest in the Scots-Irish influence on that culture and enjoys studying Celtic literature and culture. She is currently writing her mother's memoirs describing mountain life from the 1920s through the 1950s. Susan has worked in schools, private practice, and hospital settings.
