GLS 592: Television and Democracy: The Pivotal Years

The formative years of television were shaped by dramatic events: assassination, civil rights, the Vietnam War, negative political advertising. This course has as its thesis that democracy has changed as a result of the new technology of television--and that the pivotal years from 1960-1972 did much to shape the electronic democracy we live in.
