A graduate student has five calendar years to complete the graduate program. This period begins with the student’s first semester of enrollment after formal admission to a graduate degree program. A student that has extenuating circumstances can request an extension of the time limit by completing a REQUEST FOR EXTENSION OF DEGREE TIME LIMIT form. The student must have the endorsement of his/her advisory committee and the academic unit’s chair or graduate coordinator.
