Master of Science (MS) in
Marine Science
Goal of Program:
The educational objectives of this degree program are 1) to provide a broad interdisciplinary understanding of marine science to students having strong undergraduate training in mathematics and the sciences; and 2) to develop skills that will enable these students to utilize this knowledge to solve complex marine environmental problems.
Program Audience:
- A bachelor‘s degree with a concentration in a natural science or mathematics is a prerequiste for students wishing to enter this program. Students will learn problem-solving skills that will provide the foundation for future contributions by the graduates in marine-related industries, environmental management, teaching, research, and other marine-oriented careers.
Program Highlights:
- The mission of the Center for Marine Science is to promote basic and applied research in the fields of oceanography, coastal and wetland studies, marine biomedical and environmental physiology, and marine biotechnology and aquaculture.
- The Center is home to a multi-million dollar complex with large teaching auditorium, greenhouse with running seawater, docking facilities, five shops, compressor room and more.
