CAREERS IN AGING WEEK

Schedule of Sigma Phi Omega Events:

April 16th- Sigma Phi Omega (Gerontology Honor Society) students will host an information table outside of the Union from 10-2. Their purpose is to promote Gerontology programs at UNCW as well as Careers in Aging. Careers in Aging Week (CIAW) runs April 12-18, 2009 and is an annual event intended to bring greater awareness and visibility to the wide-ranging career opportunities in aging and aging research. Universities and colleges across the world participate by sponsoring events at their schools or in their communities. Our Sigma Phi Omega chapter participates each year in the “Careers in Aging” week.

April 22nd- SPO students will host Senior Games at Elderhaus Adult Day Care Center. The chapter hosts this event annually in conjunction with New Hanover County Senior Center as a part of New Hanover County Senior Games. Participants will compete in horseshoes, golf, bean bag toss, volleyball, and ladder ball among other events. The day will conclude with an awards ceremony. Set-up at 9:30 & games will run 10-12.
