B.A. in Physical Education
Teacher Licensure

This track will prepare students for eligibility for certification by the state of North Carolina to teach physical education (K-12). The degree program at the University of North Carolina is accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and follows the UNC Board of Governor's guidelines for the preparation of teachers. These degree requirements meet the standards mandated by the North Carolina State Department of Public Instruction.

If you are a Physical Education Teacher Certification major and choose to do the Health Teacher Licensure add-on, you will be certified to teach Physical Education and Health in North Carolina Public Schools. Even better, If you choose the Community Health as your Academic Concentration in the School of Education, most of your classes
will already be fulfilled for this Health Teacher Licensure.
