Wake Forest, NC Firefighters Fitness Assessment

Several exercise science students traveled to Wake Forest, NC during Fall break (October 9th and 10th) to assess the fitness status of the Wake Forest firefighters. Within a span of 3 days, the students evaluated the fitness status of 53 firefighters. The comprehensive fitness assessment included a 12-lead EKG graded exercise test (cardiovascular fitness), handgrip dynamometer (upper body muscular strength), push ups (upper body muscular endurance), curl ups (upper body muscular endurance), and sit-and-reach (flexibility). Dr. Tseh and Mr. Christian Barnes are extremely grateful to Shaun Carlson, Jennifer Emerson Roy, Jeff Helms, Kyle McSweeney, Mark Myers, Kris Anne Radtke, Adrian Rusiecki, Lauren Segur, Jason Smith, and Steve Welc for their energies and effort during the success of the assessment.
