The
purpose of this thesis was to suggest an efficient approach to the
pre-production requirements of a student thesis film. Additionally, personal insights into
completion of such requirements are supplied, based on the actual execution of
the making of my honors thesis film The
Drill. I included many of the actual
documents used in nearly every aspect of the pre-production. Such visual aids should, in theory, provide a
better understanding of not only the pre-production process and what it
includes, but of the intended direction of the film. The shooting script and a detailed list of
shots and storyboards are included so that the reader can compare the intended
shots and dialogue with those contained in the final edit of the film (also be
included in this thesis).
