The University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNC Wilmington) invites applications for full time faculty in the Clinical Research Program, a non-nursing degree program housed in the School of Nursing (SON) in the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS). The Clinical Research Program offers a B.S. in Clinical Research and an M.S. in Clinical Research and Product Development. These degree programs prepare students for careers in the biopharmaceutical clinical research industry. The curriculum is taught completely online with the exception of the undergraduate internship.
Located in southeastern North Carolina within minutes of the Atlantic Ocean, UNC Wilmington is one of 17 constituent campuses of the University of North Carolina. RESPONSIBILITIES: The individual selected to fill this faculty position will be involved in the teaching and advising of undergraduate and/or graduate students. Additional responsibilities, as delineated in the UNCW Faculty Handbook (http://uncw.edu/fac_handbook/employment/RTP/criteria.htm) will be required of tenure track faculty. Instruction in the Clinical Research Program is predominantly in an online environment. Degree requirements for the BS and MS degrees can be found at http://uncw.edu/son/clinical.html
QUALIFICATIONS: Tenure track positions require a doctorate in a life science or health care-related field; other terminal degrees (e.g., JD) with relevant biopharmaceutical or health care experience will be considered. For the non-tenure track option, the minimal educational requirement is a master's degree and relevant experience. Prior experience in teaching and developing course materials is required. Experience with online education is preferred. Candidates must experience working with clinical trials for regulatory approval and/or post-marketing studies.Tenure track status is preferred; however, the non-tenure track option will also be considered.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
