Position # Temporary
The College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) at UNCW seeks a temporary professional academic advisor. This individual will provide temporary academic advising and support to an advising load of 100 – 200 students. In addition to academic advising, this temporary employee will serve as a member of the CHHS Student Success Center and support the activities of this office to serve students majoring in one of the three professional schools: School of Health and Applied Human Sciences, School of Nursing, and the School of Social Work. This temporary assignment will begin as soon as possible and will conclude on February 28, 2014.
The position requires a minimum of a master’s degree, and experience working in a university setting. Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience in academic advising, specifically in health related fields. The ideal candidate will exhibit a broad understanding of student academic and developmental issues, strong organizational and problem solving skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and various constituents across campus.
