The University of North Carolina Wilmington announces an opening for the position of Senior Associate Director of Athletics. UNCW is an NCAA Division I program and member of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA).
The Senior Associate Director of Athletics reports directly to the Director of Athletics and is involved in the planning, direction and conduct of UNCW’s intercollegiate athletic program. This position is responsible for completing and maintaining all NCAA, CAA and UNCW reports for the department; overseeing the department’s compliance and regulatory structure with the NCAA, CAA and UNCW; providing sport administration for basketball (women), golf (women), softball, swimming and diving (men/women), track and field (men/women), cross country (men/ women) tennis (women) and volleyball; overseeing the Student-Athlete Support Services operation, serving as the department’s principal liaison with the Faculty Athletic Council; overseeing the NCAA/ UNCW Drug Testing program; serving as UNCW’s representative on the CAA’s Competition Committee; overseeing the department’s compliance with Title IX and ensuring that UNCW maintains its ethnic and gender diversity among its coaches, staff and student-athletes.
Qualifications: Master’s Degree required; minimum 4 years of related experience within a Division I athletic department or comparable experience including knowledge of NCAA, CAA, and Title IX compliance. Excellent communication skills, excellent computer skills, proven supervisory and leadership experience.
