The Film Studies Department at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) seeks a Visiting Full-time Lecturer, starting in January 2014, to teach upper-level undergraduate courses in any area of film history. This is a one-semester appointment only.

Qualifications: Candidates should possess a Ph.D. or M.A. in film studies or a related discipline; ABD will be considered. Responsibilities include a four-course teaching load. The position is benefits eligible.

One of the premiere departments at UNCW, Film Studies incorporates courses in cinema studies and film production and is planning graduate programs in both areas. The historic coastal resort city of Wilmington is home to EUE Screen Gems Studios, the largest motion picture facility east of California, and the department has a vibrant working relationship with both the studio and area filmmaking professionals. Film festivals, visiting scholars and filmmakers, and an assortment of independent and international film screenings are a community staple. For twelve consecutive years, U. S. News & World Report has ranked UNCW as one of the top ten public masters universities in the South.
