Visiting Lecturer Position - Scenic & Lighting Design

The Department of Theatre at the University of North Carolina Wilmington seeks a visiting lecturer in scenic and lighting design from January through May 2014.  Responsibilities include teaching one introductory scenic design course, one scene painting course, and one lab course, as well as producing two scenic designs and one lighting design for the mainstage season.  Additional responsibilities include mentorship of a student scenic designer and a student lighting designer on a student lab production.  Other expectations include serving as liaison between one guest lighting designer and the resident production Master Electrician.  This position is also expected to supervise scene painting and properties requirements for each mainstage production, as well as overseeing the electrics department. 

Qualifications: Applicants must possess an MFA in scenic and lighting design.  Beyond design responsibilities, candidates must demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching.
