Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Professional and Technical Writing

The Department of English at the University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in professional and technical writing, beginning August 2014. A Ph.D. in English, PTW, or a closely related field as well as a demonstrated commitment to teaching and research are required. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise and demonstrated research in computers and writing, digital humanities, and/or data-driven research. The strongest candidates will have experience teaching with technologies and be prepared to engage in research as well as contribute to departmental and university service. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in our department’s professional and technical writing program and graduate courses in the master’s program. The typical teaching load for research-active faculty is three courses per semester; information about the department can be found at: http://www.uncw.edu/english.
