BSW Coordinator/Lecturer

The Department of Social Work at the University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for a twelve-month position as BSW Extension Program Coordinator.  The position has a rank of Lecturer and the appointment will begin Fall, 2008.  This individual will serve as coordinator of the BSW Extension Program located in Jacksonville, N. C.   The duties of this position include responsibilities associated with academic program coordination, including admissions, advising, class scheduling, problem solving, and public relations.  In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing field placements and service learning arrangements, teaching courses, serving as classroom instruction and discussion facilitator, serving as field liaison for individual students, and coordinating some continuing education events. 

We are seeking a person with experience in social work practice, teaching, administration, and field instruction.  Qualifications include an accredited Master’s Degree in Social Work, with a minimum of two years of post-masters experience.  LCSW credential is preferred.

The UNCW Department of Social Work offers a unique education with a strengths-based generalist BSW program and a strengths-based clinical MSW program.
