Associate Director – Financial Aid

The successful candidate will provide support to the director for the overall management of the Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid. The position is responsible for federal, state, and institutional compliance issues, oversight of loan default management, oversight of professional judgment and satisfactory academic progress issues, the Quality Assurance Program, and Banner software issues as related to packaging financial aid in accordance with federal and state regulations. The position will write and be responsible for updating policies and procedures, managing personnel, completing the FISAP and other government and state reports, goal setting, and mediating student grievances. The successful candidate must have in-depth knowledge of federal Title IV aid regulations and presentation skills. The candidate should be able to function in a fast paced environment and be able to deal with frequent changes to financial aid policies and procedures. The position requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with large and small groups of individuals from diverse backgrounds. Some travel to training and conferences is required with the expectation that what is learned will be transferred to others in the office. A master’s degree with five years' administrative experience in a university financial aid office is preferred.
