The University of North Carolina at Wilmington seeks a Director for the Women’s Resource Center. The Center’s vision is to encourage women to succeed to their fullest potential through mentoring, education, networking, research, and support. The mission of the Center is to:
- Foster program development and collaborations that support women
- Address the health and safety issues of women
- Encourage the leadership development of women
- Identify issues that affect women
- Recognize the outstanding achievements of women
- Promote research and scholarship about women across disciplines
The Center also serves as the source for information about women’s programs and initiatives at UNCW.
Responsibilities include administering the Women’s Resource Center; the Women’s Studies minor, collaborating with other women’s programs at UNCW and the region; working with the Center’s advisory board; and developing educational, research, and outreach programs for women. The director reports to the Office of the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. Salary will be commensurate with rank and experience.
Minimum qualifications include tenure in an academic department at UNCW, a demonstrated commitment to diversity and equity, a record of working on women’s issues, and communication, interpersonal relations, and administration skills. Experience in teaching courses focused on women’s or gender issues and grant activity are preferred, but not required.
