Director of Integrated Enterprise Solutions

The Department of Integrated Enterprise Solutions is a part of the Information Technology Systems Division (ITSD) at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. ITSD is an innovative organization committed to providing a technologically progressive environment for students, faculty and staff. The Department of Integrated Enterprise Solutions provides reliable and secure maintenance support, implementation of upgrades and releases, and analysis/development of operational enhancements and external mandates for enterprise applications and systems.

The department is responsible for providing systems analysis, programming, and technical support for enterprise and vendor applications. The core of the administrative systems is the SunGard Banner suite of products including Finance, Human Resources, Student, Financial Aid, and Advancement. The department also implements and supports other enterprise vendor applications including ODS, AppWorx, Workflow, and ImageNow. The administration and maintenance of application access and security is the responsibility of this department. The Director manages and leads a highly skilled staff of professionals with the overall goal of delivering the highest level of customer service possible. This position provides leadership and has management authority over the design, development/selection, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise application systems and solutions.

As a member of the Executive Council of ITSD in the cabinet of the Vice Chancellor of Information Technology Systems, the Director of Integrated Enterprise Solutions is a participant in the campus strategic planning process for the delivery of technology and related comprehensive services. The Director is charged with: ensuring that organizational performance objectives are met; establishing work standards and reviewing employee performance relative to those standards; developing and mentoring staff members in a team-oriented organization; and developing and maintaining departmental procedures to ensure compliance to audits and industry best practices. This position is responsible for managing projects and forming and leading teams to address specific issues and objectives. The Director interfaces with all levels of campus users and chairs the UNCW Banner Project Lead Committee and represents UNCW on the UNC System Banner Project Team.

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field along with 5 years supervisory experience in an IT environment. Prefer a Master’s degree in computer science or related field, 3 years programming experience and 5 years supervisory experience. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organization, and leadership skills are required for this position. Previous experience in a college or university environment is highly preferred.
