The University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) invites applications for a 12-month full-time Coordinator of Student Services in the School of Nursing.  The School of Nursing (SON) offers NLNAC and CCNE accredited undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Nursing and a non-nursing Bachelor of Science Degree in Clinical Research (CLR). The SON has approximately 200 pre-nursing majors, 200 students in the pre-licensure BSN program, 20 students in the RN-BSN program, 30 MSN students and 20 CLR majors.

UNCW has over 11,800 enrolled students and is one of 16 constituent campuses of the University of North Carolina. UNCW offers over 70 undergraduate and over 20 graduate degree programs including doctoral programs in marine biology and education.  As a Comprehensive I University, located in southeastern North Carolina between the Cape Fear River and the Atlantic Ocean, UNCW is a young, growing, and dynamic institution committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Coordinator of Student Services is the administrator of the Student Services Office.  The Office currently has one full-time counselor, two part-time counselors, and one full-time staff support person.  The Coordinator oversees the development, recommendation and implementation of admission policies, makes recommendations for the awarding of scholarships, serves as an academic advisor for some pre-nursing majors, and serves as an advocate and resource for students.  The Coordinator also oversees outreach/community recruitment functions pertaining to students for the SON, and facilitates the development of recruitment, retention, and mentoring programs for diverse students are role expectations.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Minimum education requirements for the coordinator position include a master's degree in counseling, student personnel services, or related discipline.  Other requirements include leadership/management experience, student development, counseling, recruitment, group work and student support services, as well as experience with student advising.  Experience with print and electronic publications, and effective oral and written communication skills are essential requirements.  All qualified applicants will be considered for the position.

SALARY:  Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
